Full Metal Miniatures

Flank March’s Cold War range has been developed in collaboration with Full Metal Miniatures.

If you’re looking for 20mm or 28mm Cold War figures and vehicles but you don’t have access to a 3D printer then Full Metal is the place to go. Their figures are a mix of cast metal and printed resin which allows them to be incredibly detailed but also robust enough to stand up to tabletop wargaming.

Full Metal also have a brilliant Vietnam range and a growing Sudan range.

BattlegroundHD

BattlegroundHD is a brilliant set of squad to platoon level modern skirmish rules. They’re really well written and have a lot of depth while still being easy to play with tokens and templates you can print at home.

Eyes on Berkhoff is a free introductory scenario set in a 1980s Cold War gone hot. It only requires a couple of British sections and a Soviet squad so its a perfect first game if you’re just starting your Flank March Cold War collection.

It’s the first installment in a 3-part interconnected BAOR story arc with more scenario packs to come as the Flank March Cold War range expands.

W3 Wargaming

Matt at W3 Wargaming has launched his first Kickstarter - Retreat Hell! - and I’ve had the great pleasure of being part of the project team.

Retreat Hell! includes 28mm infantry, weapons and vehicles for the US Marines of the AEF that fought through the last months of World War I.

This is a really interesting period of military history and one that’s really underrepresented in wargaming despite it’s huge potential (just have a look at Storm of Steel’s Chain of Command games on YouTube for inspiration if you’re not sure where to start) so it’s great to see it getting some attention.

Sonic Sledgehammer

Troy has a brilliant talent for breaking painting down into simple, easy to follow steps.

He’s really kindly produced How I Paint Things videos for both WWII Soviet Naval Infantry and Cold War British in DPM camouflage:

Dougie’s Wargaming Blog

Dougie provided really useful reference photos and advice to help us create the Lionheart Cold War British range. His DPM tutorial was also the basis for the Paint to Fight painting guide (which you can find in the Downloads section).

If you want a closer look at the Lionheart Brits then he’s put together a great 2-part review video. His YouTube channel also has some brilliant Falklands games so well worth a look.

Bolt Action Cold War

If you enjoy playing Bolt Action but want to move beyond WWII and get into Cold War wargaming, then take a look at this set of additional rules and army lists put together by MustelidusMartens on Reddit:
